Ingredients
- 4 qts of quartered and cored tart apples
- 3 C water
- 1 C cider and/or 1/4 C vinegar
- 5 C sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp all spice
- 1/4 tsp cloves
Directions
Cook the apples in water until soft, then put through a food mill or colander. Add the remaining ingredients. Cook in a slow oven(275°F) for 8 hours. Stirring every half hour. Seal in hot sterilized jars leaving 1/4 in of headroom. Process for 10 min in a boiling water bath: Yield 12-6 oz glasses.
