Ingredients

• 1 1/4 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 2 eggs
• 1 1/2 cup flour
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1/2 cup cocoa
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1 cup boiling water

Directions

Cream sugar & shortening. Put all ingredients in as listed EXCEPT the vanilla. Pour boiling water in. Mix until smooth. Add vanilla. Pour into a greased and floured pan. Bake at 350° for 25 – 30 minutes.
