Cherry Mash Bars – Phyllis Miller

Ingredients:

  • 2 C sugar
  • 12 regular marshmallows
  • 2/3 C evaporated milk
  • 1/2 C margarine
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 12 oz cherry chips
  • 12 oz pkg chocolate chips
  • 3/4 C peanut butter
  • 1 16 oz pkg peanuts, crushed in blender

Directions:

Combine sugar, evaporated milk, marshmallows, margarine, vanilla, and salt. Stir over, medium heat until it comes to a full boil. Boil for 5 minutes. Remove and stir in cherry chips. Spread into a buttered 9×13 pan. Chill. Melt chocolate chips. Blend in peanut butter. Add peanuts 1/2 at a time to the chocolate mixture. Mix and spread it over the cherry mixture. Chill. Cut into pieces and enjoy.
