Frozen Biscuits – Phyllis Miller

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lb flour
  • 1 ½ tsp cream of tartar
  • 4 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 12 oz shortening
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 c milk

Directions

Mix dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Beat eggs lightly and combine with milk. Add to the above mixture and mix. Knead to roll out to 1/2 in thickness. Cut with biscuit cutter (2”). Place on sheet pans and freeze. When frozen, package in meal size packages and freeze.

To bake:

Remove from freeze and bake at 425 degrees for about 10 min. DO NOT THAW BEFORE BAKING

Makes about 50 biscuits
